Transforming the Student Experience Through ERP Modernization
A decade ago, Daytona State College (DSC) faced a critical crossroads. Serving more than 21,000 learners each year across seven instructional sites, the College’s heavily customized Jenzabar ERP system could no longer support its operational, reporting, and user experience needs. To position the institution for long-term success, DSC turned to CampusWorks—a partnership that would lay the foundation for a transformative shift in technology, operations, and student service.
Partnership with CampusWorks
CampusWorks conducted an independent IT assessment, facilitated ERP system selection, and provided executive consulting throughout the implementation process. The engagement was designed to ensure DSC made a sound, future-focused technology investment—and that leadership, staff, and faculty were fully prepared for the transition.
PHASE 1 – Conducted a comprehensive IT and ERP feasibility assessment, including an in-depth review of DSC’s existing Jenzabar environment.
PHASE 2 – Developed and issued a detailed RFP for a new ERP system, aligned with institutional priorities and best practices.
PHASE 3 – Facilitated a rigorous evaluation and selection process, including multiple workshops and presentations to College stakeholders, leadership, and the Board of Trustees.
OUTCOME – After evaluating solutions from Jenzabar, Workday, Ellucian Banner, Unit4, and Oracle, DSC selected PeopleSoft as its new ERP platform. CampusWorks continued to serve as a trusted advisor, providing executive consulting services to the ERP committee and College leadership during the complex implementation.

Advice For Leading Digital Transformation
Looking back, DSC leaders recognize the importance of change management and ongoing user training.
“The technology is only as effective as the people using it. Ensuring buy-in and comprehension of the tools across departments is critical. Take your time during implementation and don’t underestimate the importance of communication, training, and stakeholder engagement throughout the transition and beyond.”
