HCCC is growing while also advancing a significant facilities agenda and a Middle States Self-Study. Those priorities place new demands on the technology, data, and operating capacity supporting the institution.

Three things caught our attention.

1. HCCC is becoming a different institution than the one its current scope was written to serve. Growth, facilities work, and accreditation activity all change the demands placed on technology and administrative operations. The relevant question is not whether the original managed services decision was sound; it is whether the scope still matches the College’s current and emerging needs.
2. Growth and capital investment increase the importance of operating capacity. New and evolving facilities are visible investments, but the operating model supporting them is equally consequential. Technology, data, service management, and administrative processes have to scale with the institution rather than become constraints on it.
3. The Self-Study raises the value of reliable data and repeatable processes. Accreditation requires institutional evidence that can be produced consistently and defensibly. That makes reporting, process ownership, and functional capacity part of the operating-model conversation — not simply a technology issue.

1. Enrollment and facilities priorities are moving at the same time. The institution being supported is changing while the current model is still in place.
2. A future decision on technology management services is ahead. That creates room to evaluate the model before a contract deadline compresses the conversation.
3. The Middle States Self-Study is in progress. The same systems and operations being evaluated for future fit are also responsible for producing the evidence the College needs now.

This is a useful moment to step back because the evaluation is most valuable while important choices are still open — before the next operating model becomes the default.
