The CampusWorks' Management Team includes some of the most experienced professionals in higher education.
Chief Executive Officer
Liz Murphy joined CampusWorks in 2011 as the company's chief executive officer and a member of the Board of Directors. Previously, Liz served as the chief client officer at Datatel (now Ellucian), where she began her career in 1989. Liz is also involved with many volunteer and philanthropic activities; she previously served as Chairman of the Lupus Foundation of America’s DC, Virginia and Maryland Chapter and now serves as president of Continuous Quality Improvement Network (CQIN) as well as a board member of both Community College Business Officers (CCBO) and Quality Matters. Liz earned her BA from the University of Scranton, where she has served since 2008 on the Capital Campaign Steering Committee, and her MA in Executive Management from the University of Maryland.
Chief Operating and Financial Officer
Peter Xeinis joined CampusWorks in 2016 as the company's chief operating and financial officer. Before that, Peter spent 20 years at Lavipharm, where he most recently served as vice president of finance and administration. Peter earned both his BS in Business Administration and his MBA in Finance from the University of Bridgeport.
Vice President, Client Experience
Joe joined CampusWorks in 2017 as the company's vice president of the client experience. Previously, Joe held leadership positions at Dynamic Campus and Collegis (now Elllucian). He served in the United States Air Force for 28 years, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Joe earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and his MBA from the University of Phoenix.
Senior Director, Solutions Architecture
Carolan Moran joined CampusWorks in 2014. Previously, Carolan served as the director of professional services at Ellucian (formerly Datatel), where she spent over two decades serving in sales consulting, account management, and leadership roles. Carolan earned her BA in Legal Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
Joseph Rossmeier, PhD
Vice President, Client Development
Dr. Joseph Rossmeier joined CampusWorks in 2015 as the company's vice president of client development. Before that, Dr. Rossmeier served as vice president for technology services and chief information officer at Prince George's Community College in Largo, MD for 13 years. He has also held sales leadership roles at Collegis, PeopleSoft, and Datatel. Dr. Rossmeier earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Adminstration from the University of Michigan, his MA in Sociology/Personnel Services from Michigan State University, and his BS in Industrial Technologies/Secondary Education from the University of Wisconsin.
Senior Director of Talent & Human Resources
John Bigham joined CampusWorks in 2016 as the company's senior director of talent and human resources. Previously, John led human resources organizations at Rommel Harley-Davidson, Blackthorn Advisory Group, Nixon Uniform Service & Medical Wear, and Applied Card Systems. He proudly served in the Army for twenty years, rising to the rank of Sergeant Major.
Senior Director, Client Leadership
Deirdre Cochran is CampusWorks' senior director of client leadership, a position she's held since 2015. Deirdre brings over three decades of operational and leadership excellence from her experiences at IPR International, Ellucian, SunGard, and Systems & Computer Technology. Deirdre earned her BA from Boston College and her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
Senior Director, Assessment & Optimization
Karen Boudreau-Shea is CampusWorks' senior director of assessment & optimization, a position she's held since 2014. Karen joined CampusWorks in 2012 as a senior IT executive, bringing with her a wealth of IT strategy and leadership experience from her time at Datatel and her decade-long tenure as Lesley University's chief information officer. Karen earned her BBA in Accounting & Information Technology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Director, Technology Leverage
Joe Traino is CampusWorks' Director of Technology Leverage, a position he has held since 2014. Joe joined CampusWorks in 2007 as a senior IT executive, bringing with him technology and operational leadership experience from his roles at the University of Baltimore and the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services. Joe earned his BS in Computer Science from the University of Baltimore and his MBA from Northcentral University.

David Buettner, PhD
Dr. David Buettner has 40 years of higher education experience. Most recently, he served as interim president of North Iowa Area Community College in 2013, where he was president from 1981-2001. He also served as president of Fox Valley Technical College from 2001-2008. Dr. Buettner earned his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University, a master's degree from the University of Illinois, and his Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
Mary Fifield, PhD
Dr. Mary Fifield served as president of Bunker Hill Community College, MA and Harrisburg Area Community College, PA. During her tenure at each institution, each college was selected as the national recipient for achievement of equity and opportunity for persons of color and women by the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). Her 45-year community college service includes experience as academic vice president, dean of instruction, department chair, and faculty member. Currently, Dr. Fifield works with other colleges aspiring to increase student success and completion as an Achieving the Dream Leadership Coach. She holds a BA from Clarke College, an MFA from Pratt Institute, and a PhD from Saint Louis University.
Augustine (Augie) Gallego
Augie Gallego is the chancellor emeritus of the San Diego Community College District, a position he held from 1990-2004. Earlier in his career, Mr. Gallego served as associate dean of student affairs and associate director of admissions at the University of California-Davis. He also served as associate dean of student services and provost at the San Diego Community College District Educational Cultural Complex, and dean of San Diego Community College District Cesar Chavez and West City Continuing Education Centers, as well as director of San Diego Community College District Instructional and Student Services.
Del Anderson Handy
Del Anderson Handy has 27 years of higher education experience in California. Early in her career, Del served as vice president of Skyline College and later became president of San Jose City College. In 1995, Anderson became the first woman president of the 77,000-student City College of San Francisco (CCSF), from which she retired in 1998. Del earned both her BS in early childhood education and teaching and her MSW in social work and community organizing from San Diego State University.
Cary Israel, JD
Dr. Cary Israel is the district president emeritus of Collin College, TX, a multi-campus operation serving more than 52,000 students annually. Cary served as president of Collin College from 1999 through 2015. He previously served as president of Raritan Valley Community College in New Jersey, president of the Illinois Community College System, and president of Front Range Community College in Colorado. Cary earned a BA with highest honors from Michigan State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School.
Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. EdD
Dr. Arthur Kirk has served as president of Saint Leo University since 1997. Before that, he was president of Keuka College for 13 years. He also served as director of Development and Planning for Raritan Valley Community College and executive vice president and chief financial officer of Misericordia University. Dr. Kirk has nearly three decades of experience as chief executive officer, leading private colleges through transformational change and growth. He received his BA and MA from Kean University and his Doctorate of Education from Rutgers University.
Frederick V. Moore, JD
Fred Moore served as president of Buena Vista University for twenty-two years and was named president emeritus in 2017. He is currently a search consultant with AGB Search. Prior to his service at BVU, Fred was vice president for development and general counsel at North Carolina Wesleyan College. He has served on the boards of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, the Council of Independent Colleges, and the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning. He holds a Juris Doctor with Honors, an MBA, and a BA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Norm Nielsen, PhD
Dr. Norm Nielsen was the president of Kirkwood Community College for 20 years before retiring in 2005. In 2013, Dr. Nielsen served as interim president of Mount Mercy University. He currently serves as chair of the Buena Vista University Board of Trustees. He received his bachelor's degree in social sciences from Buena Vista University, his master's degree in educational administration from Iowa State University, and a Ph.D. in educational administration from the University of Iowa.
Elizabeth Rocklin has been serving community and technical colleges for over two decades. She was the first director of board services for the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT), where she spent ten years helping more than 160 community colleges with executive search. Prior to that, she was a search principal in the education practice of Korn/Ferry International and served in managerial roles at the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU) and the Association for Career and Technical Education. She is also the president emerita of CampusWorks Community College Division.
David Rutledge is currently serving as state representative of Michigan's 54th House District, a position to which he was first elected in 2010. Prior to this, David served three 6-year terms on the Board of Trustees at Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2003, he was elected Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT). David received his undergraduate degree in Political Science from Tennessee State University and completed graduate work at both Harvard Law School and the University of Michigan Law School. David is also a military veteran. He served in the United States Air Force as a Personnel and Administrative Officer and achieved the rank of Captain.

CEO, Softerware, Inc.
Douglas Schoenberg has worked in the computer industry since the early 1980s and has been CEO of SofterWare since 1998. He also sits on the board of several nonprofits, including a multi-site childcare provider, and has served as an advisor to several childcare-related professional organizations and publications. In the 1990s, Doug pioneered the use of electronic payment processing in the childcare industry. Ever since, he has championed its efficiency and cost- and time-saving uses by non-profit and for-profit organizations. He is a frequent speaker and author on topics related to payment processing, non-profit management and technology, and childcare administration. Doug earned his BS in Finance from Lehigh University.
Eric Schoenberg, PhD
Board Chairman, CampusWorks Inc., Adjunct Associate Professor, Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania
Dr. Eric Schoenberg is CampusWorks' board chairman. He also conducts research on the psychology of money and asset market bubbles and has taught behavioral economics, decision making, and leadership at Columbia Business School, NYU's Stern School of Business, and the Haas Business School of the University of California at Berkeley. Previously, he was managing director and chief knowledge officer of Broadview International, a boutique investment bank offering merger and acquisition advisory services to information technology companies. Before that, he served as a foreign service officer in the U.S. Department of State. Dr. Schoenberg holds a PhD in Psychology from Columbia University, an MBA from the Wharton School, where he was a Palmer Scholar, an MSE in Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and an AB in Biology from Harvard.
