September 29, 2009, Sarasota, Florida – CampusWorks Inc. (CWI), an information technology management firm specializing exclusively in community college solutions, announced that Bunker Hill Community College, MA, (BHCC) has extended their CampusWorks contract for an additional five years through September 30, 2014.
Under the extended contract, CampusWorks will continue to furnish a technology management and staff augmentation team consisting of a Chief Information Officer, Datatel project manager and technology specialists. BHCC, under the leadership of President Mary Fifield, enrolls more than 10,000 students on two campuses and at five satellite locations each semester in day, evening, weekend, web-based and distance learning courses and programs.
This latest extension has created a 15-year IT partnership with CampusWorks and BHCC, since the original contract began in 1999. CampusWorks will continue to work with talented IT staff and the user community to ensure that BHCC remains a leader in the use of technology to support the teaching and learning mission of the College. According to Bret Moeller, CampusWorks Chief Information Officer at BHCC, “This IT partnership with BHCC brings great pride…this indeed is a historic event for CampusWorks and represents a vote of confidence in our exemplary level of technology management services.”
The renewal of CampusWorks contract is a reflection of the joint accomplishments that CampusWorks and the College community have continually achieved each year of this partnership. In this challenging budget environment, this renewal also underscores the confidence that BHCC has in the ability of CampusWorks to continue to provide a demonstrative return on investment. Jesse Thompson, Executive Vice President and CFO at BHCC, remarked that “Bunker Hill Community College has a whole new culture about technology that would not have occurred without CampusWorks. CampusWorks has given us focus and created a culture of teamwork. I am confident this ongoing partnership will continue to produce demonstrable results, cutting edge technologies, and cost savings.”
BHCC and CampusWorks have made great strides together and produced dramatic results throughout this IT partnership. CampusWorks and IT staff have provided a strategic technology plan and a disaster-recovery plan; provided Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance and other compliancy initiatives for diverse state, federal, and organizational mandates; implemented server and storage virtualization; upgraded the College network infrastructure and phone systems; established a highly responsive help desk support system; successfully implemented and enhanced the Datatel ERP and upgrades; and incorporated best practices into the management of the network, server and security environment.
All of these accomplishments have been achieved while reducing spending by centralizing technology related purchases and implementing industry best practices through CampusWorks just-in-time resource specialists and College IT staff. The clear goal for the continued partnership is to provide enhanced and upgraded learner-support services that will increase productivity, improve teaching, and promote learner success. CampusWorks is pleased to continue the strong partnership with BHCC and with the growing number of colleges who have selected CampusWorks to assist in managing talented college staff and leading initiatives for administrative systems, network infrastructure, and instructional technology.
