Dr. David Buettner Joins CampusWorks’ Executive Advisory Board

Dear Colleagues,

For over 25 years, I have been privileged to serve community colleges throughout the country – for 20 years as President of North Iowa Area Community College and most recently as President of Fox Valley Technical College, WI (FVTC). Although I have recently retired from FVTC, I have been looking for meaningful ways to remain involved in the Community College world, so I am pleased to inform you that I have joined the Executive Advisory Board of CampusWorks, Inc.

As a community college president, I realized how challenged colleges were becoming to create and maintain highly performing IT enterprises. The specialized knowledge required to effectively lead today’s complex IT efforts overwhelmed my personal abilities and left me and those around me dependent on the skills of IT leaders and staff whom I found increasingly difficult to recruit, develop, and retain.  Even when I felt I was successfully meeting these challenges, I needed ways to validate the wisdom of our decisions as we invested substantial college resources in IT capability. 

I have been impressed with Campus Works’ IT leadership accomplishments for several years, and their recent success in the marketplace has continued to capture my attention.  As I looked into what was behind their apparent popularity, I talked with several CampusWorks’ clients, many led by colleagues who enjoy considerable reputations in our industry including:

The accolades and confidence directed toward Campus Works by these colleagues was intriguing.  I talked with both new CampusWorks’ clients as well as many clients who have extended the term of their multi-year engagements. These new and extended partnerships demonstrate extreme confidence in CampusWorks’ technology leadership and represent a pattern of choice by college presidents who are selecting CampusWorks as their first choice for technology management services. 

As a CampusWorks’ Executive Advisory Board member, I will serve in an advisory role dedicated to providing accurate, relevant and strategic direction to our community college colleagues.
