Keyano College Selects CampusWorks for 68-month Technology Management and Hosting Services Contract
December 3, 2007, Sarasota, Florida - CampusWorks Inc. (CWI), an information technology management firm specializing exclusively in higher education solutions, announced that Keyano College in Alberta, Canada, has signed a multi-year contract with CampusWorks to furnish administrative systems leadership and unique hosting services.
Keyano College, located in Fort McMurray, Alberta, first opened in 1965 as the Alberta Vocational Centre. Keyano’s Training Centre provided skilled workers for the world’s largest oilsands development. Currently, under the leadership of President Jim Foote, Keyano College consists of 4 campuses and 4 learning centres, and its enrollment exceeds 3,000. According to President Foote, “Keyano sits at the epicenter of the hottest economy in Canada, if not the world.”
Under this 68-month contract, CampusWorks will furnish an ERP Project Manager who will be responsible for providing management in the development, maintenance, and support of the administrative systems of the College. The administrative systems supported are Student Services (PowerCampus) and Finance (Great Plains).
This contract is unique in that it includes the development of a remote hosting arrangement, design of a new network hosting arrangement, and implementation of a cost sharing platform. The remote hosting will use one of CampusWorks’ client sites as the host for the software application. Using this model, CampusWorks can invite smaller colleges to use its services through a shared hosting instead of the traditional on site computer center model.
CampusWorks will also provide Corporate Resource Specialists staff for ongoing subject matter and technical support of hosted services, remediation/ performance tuning activities and new projects. CampusWorks administrative, network/infrastructure, administrative systems specialists, and hosting technology specialists will address the tasks prioritized by the College Executive Team and the CampusWorks Project Manager.
Prior to this long-term contract, CampusWorks and Keyano signed an interim, multi-month contract for PowerCampus/MIS leadership and planning services. President Foote has extended this partnership with CampusWorks to manage the development and operation of the administrative systems, to serve as the remote hosting/processing arm and to potentially provide expertise in other areas as needs emerge. CampusWorks is pleased to add Keyano College to the growing number of colleges who have selected CampusWorks for technology leadership throughout North America.
