June 1, 2006, Sarasota, Florida – CampusWorks Inc. (CWI), an information technology management firm specializing exclusively in higher education solutions, announced that Red Deer College (RDC) in Alberta has signed a multi-year contract with CWI to furnish a technology management and project delivery team, including the appointment as Chief Information Officer (CIO). 

Red Deer College, established in 1964, has been a leader in education for more than 40 years.  Currently, under the leadership of President Ron Woodward, RDC offers a comprehensive array of programs to more than 20,000 students. Red Deer College serves primarily learners from the Central Alberta region through its courses, programs, and services.

Under this new technology management partnership, CampusWorks is providing an experienced management team and technical experts who, along with talented Red Deer IT staff, are responsible for all technology initiatives and objectives and also for achieving a significant return on technology investments.  Working directly with faculty, staff, students and the administration, CampusWorks is adapting its technology planning and best practices model to provide RDC with a comprehensive technology plan and blueprint for all technology initiatives through 2011. 

New and exciting technology initiatives include developing robust enrollment management, portal, web and identity management technologies; strengthening the Banner platform; enhancing the network and infrastructure security; and, most importantly, advancing technology in the College's core teaching and learning mission. 
 
In reference to this new partnership, President Woodward said, “I am very pleased with the quality and depth of work that CampusWorks has been able to achieve in such a short period of time.  The progress is evident already and CWI has fixed many initial and critical IT problems.  CampusWorks’ best practices have turned the whole place around – everyone, including the faculty, staff and administration, is so much more positive.”
