September 29, 2004 Sarasota, Florida – CampusWorks Inc. (CWI), an information technology management firm specializing exclusively in higher education solutions was selected by Nassau Community College (NCC) as its partner to provide legacy migration planning.
Nassau Community College located in Garden City, New York enrolls nearly 22,000 students. This makes NCC the largest community college in the SUNY system and the largest single campus community college in the nation.
Under the leadership of President Sean Fanelli, CampusWorks was selected to perform the first step in replacing the College’s legacy student and administrative software with a state-of-the art integrated system. CampusWorks will provide Nassau Community College with an extensive business process review (BPR) which will determine the system requirements necessary for efficient utilization of new and existing systems. The review will include performing a user-needs analysis with key administration, staff and faculty regarding their requirements for new Student Information and Financial/Business systems.
After a highly competitive review, the Cabinet and the RFP Evaluation Committee unanimously selected CampusWorks because they were impressed with its ‘best practices methodologies’, the wonderful client references and the high caliber of the team that will be leading NCC’s BPR effort.
CampusWorks has a proven track record of providing leadership to colleges throughout North America to prepare for, select and implement new administrative and instructional technologies.
Under the agreement, CampusWorks will provide NCC with a project manager and access to the resources of CWI’s Administrative Systems Migration Group in addition to its full cadre of experienced IT technology experts. Ms. Joan Day, CWI’s project manager for NCC states, “I commend the administration on making the decision to get an independent and unbiased picture of their business processes as a precursor to the upcoming major implementation process. Approaching this important process upfront is the best way to safeguard the College from being forced in a direction it does not want to go.”
CampusWorks is pleased to add Nassau Community College to the growing list of colleges who have selected CampusWorks to assist them in making a significant change in administrative information systems. According to Tina Koopmans, Managing Director of CampusWorks, “Nassau Community College joins a trend of forward thinking colleges who have approached improving administrative systems by choosing CampusWorks as their independent technology resource partner. They see the value of an unbiased assessment as their key to success”.
