July 29, 2005 Sarasota, Florida – CampusWorks Inc. (CWI), an information technology management firm specializing exclusively in community college solutions, announced that MassBay Community College has signed a Technology Management Services agreement effective Friday July 29, 2005. Friday, July 29 was also the last day of a contract between the College and Collegis, an IT outsource vendor who was performing services for several years for the College

MassBay Community College with campuses in Wellesley and Framingham, and a Technology Center in Ashland, Massachusetts was established in 1961 and enrolls more than 5,500 students.

The contract between the College and CampusWorks calls for an IT partnership which includes furnishing an interim Chief Technology Officer and a team of specialists to assess and stabilize core PeopleSoft administrative systems and all technology infrastructure services. The scope of work also provides for management of current College and contract IT staff, Internet technologies, help desk support, and development of a Technology Tactical Plan. The Plan will focus on adapting CWI’s “best practice” architecture to support enhancements to the current PeopleSoft environment, identity and portal management, and advance technology services in support of core teaching and learning activities.

In commenting on this award, Darrow Neves, CampusWorks General Manager and Chief Technology Officer, indicated his pleasure in being able to sign this contract. In particular, he noted that “he was pleased that all the hard work by both talented College and CWI staff serving Massachusetts institutions (Bunker Hill CC, Middlesex CC, and Northern Essex CC) over the past four years had been recognized by the new administration at MassBay CC.” He added that, in his opinion, “the contrast in performance between CampusWorks (with its unique IT co-source approach) and other vendors in Massachusetts played an important role in the selection of CampusWorks as MassBay’s new technology management provider.”
